The history About Superior Flooring began by owner Jack Cameron in 1993. Before Superior Flooring Jack Cameron operated Commercial Flooring and Superior Flooring out of the same building, at 1021 Tower ave since 1988 still serving customers faithfuly for almost 30 years now.

Superior Flooring location at 1021 Tower Ave location, was formerly the “City Market” and old grocery stores make good flooring stores, as they are constructed to carry lots of weight and have lots of square footage space. With over 16,000 sq ft of showroom and warehouse, Superior Flooring is the largest stocking floor store in the area. With over 400 rolls and rems in stock of carpet and vinyl, as well as thousands of feet of ceramic, wood, and laminate.

Superior flooring provides a multitude of services and products to Superior area but also to Duluth, Minnesota including installation of carpet, hardwood, tile, ceramic, vinyl, laminate and area rugs.

Joel Stutsman

Owner

A graduate of the University of Minnesota – Duluth, Joel is celebrating his 30th year in flooring and home furnishings. Starting as store manager at Kordel Home Furnishings (now Slumberland) in three of their locations in northern Minnesota, Joel moved back to the Twin Ports and managed stores for Robert’s and Johnson Brothers, and GCO/Floor Center. Joel was hired as general manager by Superior Flooring in 2006 and became Owner of the company in 2021. “The three things that make our company great is our huge inventory, a knowledgeable staff who truly care about our customers, and a legion of the best installers in the area.”

Maria Ackerson

Sales Manager

Maria started her career at Superior Flooring over ten years ago as a sales associate and worked her way up to Sales Manager. Always keeping up with current trends, technology and fashion in the industry, Maria has a great talent for color coordination and decorating. “ Whether it’s new construction, a commercial job, or a small remodeling project, I believe in educating the customer to make informed decisions. More importantly, offering service above and beyond their expectations from start to finish.
